Below I have shared 2 short letters about immigration and guest workers from Mike Ryan, Libertarian Candidate for US House Texas Congressional District 10. Mike and I have become friends while running for the US House. I enjoy our discussions even though we do not agree on every subject. On immigration we are very close. Mike is uniquelt qualified to speak on this since he has a one generation connection to immigration of his family. I do not. My immigrant ancestors were mainly French trappers in the Canadian wilderness, thier indian wives,  Scottish traders in the North East and German Immigrant who became coal miners in Pennsylvania. Who does your US House Representative represent?!?!

I'm running for the US House of Representatives TX CD9. The incumbent Al Green has clearly demonstrated that he listens to, caters too and patronizes immigrants, both legal and illegal. I understand the sentiment for immigrants since my family came to this country as French, German, and Scottish immigrants to name a few. We took on some native American genealogy  through the French side of the family tree. Ojibwe, Chippewa, and Iroquois I'm told, but when researching this my sister could only find references to spouses listed in the records as... wife (Indian). We are pretty sure which reservations but not absolutely sure which tribes. My wife's family is Spanish and Mexican Indian mix, probably Olmec on her mother's side, and her Father claimed full blooded Tarascan Indian. Also on her mother's side were Sephardic Jews its rumoured who settled in Mexico, but that would be part of the Spanish side. My daughter married a man who is descended from Irish, and Eng...

An Alternative to Term Limits Last edited 8/31/2019. to include the Wyoming Rule. – Phil Kurtz, Libertarian Candidate for US House of Representatives Texas District 9, 2018. There is a lot of talk lately about Term Limits for Congress.  I understand the sentiment behind this. Career Politicians, Special interests, New Blood, or a lack there of, too much concentration of power, partisan segregation and the disconnect between the representatives and the district that he or she represents. It seems that elected representatives come into office with an agenda and try to convince their constituents that it fits their wants and needs. So, to limit power, many have proposed term limits. This unfortunately takes away the right of you the voter to select your representation. Some will argue it does not, however, if you have a representative that you support, a term limit could make him ineligible to run for office, thus violating your right to select your direct representation. ...
